Project: St. Andrew’s RC Primary School, Streatham, London. After School Club.

Description: The scheme transformed the space vacated by the school nursery to provide expanded facilities for the ‘Twilights’ after school club. The space inhabited by the nursery was poorly configured, having been subdivided into a series of individual rooms poorly linked to one another and to the main nursery space. The project began by removing all of the non-loadbearing internal partitions, and reconfiguring these to provide the essential support facilities – WC’s, kitchen and storage spaces – while retaining the largest possible multi-functioning room. This main space is now located centrally, with immediate access to the ancillary facilities without wasteful circulation areas. Bespoke joinery provides storage, workbench and cloakroom zones within the main space.

Status: Complete.
