Project: St. Christopher’s The Hall School, Bromley, London. Phase II

Description: Phase II of the redevelopment of  St. Christopher’s The Hall School provides a suite of four classrooms at ground floor, four additional classrooms at first floor, and a series of ancillary offices, stores and toilets. The scheme extends the principles established by the Phase I building, adopting the central spine corridor as the primary circulation space, extending this through 2 floors to provide a first floor balcony, and creating a generous enough space at ground floor to act as a foyer to the main hall and a gallery space to display pupils' artwork. Externally the elevation of the building primarily addresses the playing fields to the east, while the modelling of the façade maintains views between the staff space and the school grounds and creates covered teaching space at ground floor. The  materiality of the building adopts the ‘pavilion like’ aesthetic of Phase I.

Status: Complete.
